In 2012, Dr. Pauline Voortman completed her doctoral research on trust within organisations. Building on this research, she wrote the book ‘vertrouwen als kompas’ which explains how to strengthen trust in organisations through five practical elements:

  • A clear mission and shared values
  • Well-defined roles, tasks, and responsibilities
  • Strong relationships
  • Good (self)reflection
  • Effective communication

Why is this important?

Although the importance of trust is widely recognised, many people do not fully understand how it actually works. Everyone has their own view of trust and interprets it differently. Exploring this theme together helps clarify which values, beliefs, and behaviours matter most in your organisation. We share insights into how trust functions and how it can be built, providing everyone with tools to contribute to a more positive culture.

What will we do?

In this keynote, we take you to the world of trust. We begin by exploring its meaning and importance, followed by topics such as benevolence, clear context, expectations, reflection, attention, and communication. Through interactive conversation, we examine how trust plays a role in your organisation. We then share practical tips and tools, based on both scientific research and our own experience.

Outcomes:

  • A shared understanding of what trust is and how it works in organisations.
  • Insight into working with the Trustworks model.
  • A clearer view of how trust functions in your own organisation.
  • Practical tips grounded in scientific research.
